When I met Chantelle on a recent dance retreat in Costa Rica, I was struck by her presence and her strength as a massage therapist. She incorporated crystals, intuitive card reading, and multiple modalities including Mayan womb massage that felt deeply nourishing. Her practice goes deeper than massage: She hosts retreats for women to tune into their bodies, including an upcoming Sacred Body Retreat in Costa Rica.

In Chantelle's words:
"I am a luxury spa and wellness specialist and avid traveller, currently traveling in Latin America. My background includes experience as a luxury spa therapist and manager, certifications in yoga, Thai massage, and extensive training in energetic and somatic healing practices. I now offer holistic wellness retreats globally, with an aim to bring my clients back in to energetic alignment through movement and touch."
Chantelle's Story
Chantelle started her career in the beauty industry and in the luxury resort space, where she could engage with her love of travel. She moved from her native Australia to Canada, where she deepened her yoga practice and strengthened the foundations of her bodywork. A six-month journey in Latin America led to greater self awareness: "That's when I started to connect with myself and what I wanted."
COVID isolation in Southwest Australia brought more self exploration. "I spent a lot of time with myself. The deeper I connected to myself, the deeper my offerings were for others." She spent time in the islands off the east coast of Australia, did her yoga teacher training in India, and Thai massage training in Thailand. After serving as Wellness and Recreation Manager at the Andaz hotel in Costa Rica, she missed hands-on healing. She studied Mayan abdominal massage in Guatemala, which was a powerful offering to bring to the Selva Armonia retreat center in Uvita, Costa Rica, where we met. "It's really deep work, working with the emotional body."

How She Glows
Chantelle cares for her energy with a daily 45-minute pranayama breathwork and meditation practice. All that breathwork prepares her for freediving, one of her favorite activities that she recently practiced in Honduras. "It's like a mental game. The body wants to breathe," Chantelle says of diving with no equipment. "Our bodies can adapt in so many ways. It's about overcoming our mental conditioning."
Where She Goes
Airlie Beach, on the Great Barrier Reef, "is one of the most iconic places in Australia," best to visit in the dry season August through October, when it's "not super humid and there are fewer stingers" (jellyfish), Chantelle says.
