Laura Haraka, Somatic Practioner

For the past several years, I’ve had trouble taking a full breath. I could belly breathe, but it would hitch just above my heart, and I’d have to hike my shoulders up and bend slightly to take a full breath in—no more. When I was introduced to Laura at Feel to Heal and her breathwork, I was so excited to reconnect with techniques I’d forgotten: specifically, the Voo Breath. It’s so calming. Grounding. I used it during childbirth, but never outside that time. This learning from Laura combined with bodywork, and EFT I experienced at Spirit Weavers Gathering has made it easy for me to breathe again—fully.

From Laura:

My name is Laura Haraka, and I’m a proud 54-year-old mother of two daughters. I spent the early part of my career teaching high school math, then devoted the past 18 years to being a full-time mom.

In 2015, everything changed. I was suddenly struck by a chronic pain condition that flipped my world upside down. After three years of searching for a diagnosis with no clear answers, I discovered the world of mind-body medicine—and it changed everything.

Through this work, I not only found relief from physical pain, but also experienced profound emotional healing and personal growth. Today, I live with a deep sense of gratitude—for my health, my family, and the incredible medical and wellness professionals who helped guide me through that difficult time.
Mindfulness, movement, and spiritual practice are now essential parts of my everyday life. My mission is to share my story to offer hope and support to others navigating chronic pain—to remind them that healing is possible, and joy is still within reach.
