Dr. Stephanie tunes in to her winter practice

I went to Stephanie Marango (Dr. Stephanie) for an energy upgrade. I didn’t have any specific ailments, but when I looked at her website that Marlene Handler sent me after they collaborated on an event, it felt like a yes to reach out to her. After an initial consultation this past January, we agreed to a series of visits every 3-5 weeks for 6 months. I wasn’t totally clear on what to expect, but I was open to how she described her approach: “My work aligns you physically and energetically (which, as a quantum physicist at heart, I see similarly). From my perspective, you need all of your parts, working together and harmoniously, to be the best/healthiest you.”

At each session, we would talk for a bit, check in on what had shifted, and then she would have me lie down clothed, eyes closed, and she would work with the network of energetic nodes she perceives. Different from reiki or craniosacral, this wasn’t body work. In between sessions, I would follow her guidance for small but meaningful shifts to my daily routines, like eating more fresh greens versus heavier soups and stews. The effect was subtle, but over time, palpable: I felt more integrated, lighter. I also experienced some healthy shifts to how I see the world. Her prescriptions were easy and fun to do, including: a breathing exercise, a meditation, supplements, some crystals to work with, dance that connected me with Aliza Rivka, hula hooping that led me to Jocelyn Gordon

After a 6-car collision that left her re-learning to move, Dr. Stephanie created her own healing path, ultimately becoming a doctor herself, receiving her MD with distinction from Mount Sinai. She has authored several books and textbooks. She created a technology platform, Coherent Health, that helps practitioners collaborate on patient care. Currently on an adventure in Bozeman, Montana, when she’s not dancing or writing, Dr. Stephanie sees clients remotely and in-person in Westchester, NY.

How She Glows

She dances! Dr. Stephanie is a devotee of the Simonson Method, a type of somatic dance that focuses on how it feels, not how it looks.

Where She Goes

What's your favorite season to be in Bozeman?

Every season, really! Each one offers new ways to see and be with the land. And, wow, the land.

What are three places you love for taking care of your energy when you're there?

🍲The Co-op Downtown is my go-to for a nourishing soup in the winter (love the Harvest Vegetable)!

🍵I really appreciate Good Medicine's approach to community acupuncture (and great care).

🥾It's not always the easiest drive to get there, but the color/clarity of Fairy Lake is worth it!
