My Morning Woods Walk
A REVERY TINY MOMENTS PRACTICE
Every morning, I head to the woods with my dog, Huck.
No matter how the morning’s gone: what kid couldn’t find their jacket, who didn’t have time for breakfast, or called because they forgot their gym shoes, the woods welcomes me.
The trees so tall.
The ground firm and yielding.
Sounds of kids nearby, but not mine: happily play.
I walk.
Huck runs.
Digs.
Runs away, comes sprinting back.
Every step I take in, is me finding new footing.
I breathe it in—I breathe it all in.
And get on with it✨
