If you haven’t touched a hula hoop since elementary school, it’s time to pick one up again. Jocelyn Gordon is a gifted guide for your hooping journey. She founded [HoopYogini](https://www.hoopyogini.com/?ref=revery.space), coaching you in a mindful hooping practice through online courses, live 1:1 sessions, and in-person retreats. It’s fun, yes, and deep, too. In Jocelyn’s words, her [life experiences](https://www.jocelyngordon.com/about-jocelyn?ref=revery.space) and “a lifelong dedication to the healing arts which includes thousands of hours of training and practice in mindfulness meditation, pan-African dance, energy and prayer work, movement, and yoga therapy, provide me with the tools to teach and assist others in the reclamation of their embodiment, intuition and creative potential.” Jocelyn is based in Florida and sees clients globally online.

I’ve been curious about different nonlinear movement methodologies and after a conversation with Jocelyn, I signed up for a 1:1 online session with her and her [Foundations & Flow](https://www.hoopyogini.com/foundationsflow?ref=revery.space) self-paced course. I bought an [adult-sized hoop](https://hoopnotica.com/?ref=revery.space) (the diameter measured from the soles of my feet to my belly button). The simple, powerful gestures Jocelyn guides me through open my spine and hips and make me want to keep going with this practice.
